Competence Centre for Culture and Health

Artistic practices and knowledge can help improve people’s physical, mental, social, and existential wellbeing. For this reason, we strive to integrate culture and artistic forms of expression based on evidence-based research in health care settings.

Our mission

Our mission is to support the integration of aesthetic practices and knowledge into healthcare settings, recognizing that the arts have the potential to enhance individuals’ physical, mental, social, and existential well-being.

Our approach builds on a salutogenic perspective, focusing on individuals’ strengths and available resources.

What we do

  • Facilitate collaboration by connecting artists from a wide range of disciplines with healthcare professionals and researchers to co-create and develop innovative methods.
  • Advance knowledge through evidence-based research and proven experience.
  • Promote the integration of aesthetic activities within healthcare services.

Organisation

We are a small unit operating under the Culture Administration, within the Art Department. Our strategist, project coordinator, and communication officers collaborate with various teams and temporary project organizations.
