Video connection between ambulance and hospital

Ambulance-to-hospital video links allow doctors to assess patients before they arrive at the hospital, improving triage and preparedness.

The overall goals for using video connections between ambulances and hospitals are:

  • Increase patient safety and the quality of care
  • More efficient use of resources

We have identified three possible scenarios and recipients at the hospital, and the questions it can solve.

  • Specialists, such as neurologists – Can we increase patient safety and the quality of care by allowing specialists to be assisted by video communication in the assessment before the patient arrives at the hospital?
  • Receiving staff in the emergency room – How can we better prepare staff and ensure the right resources are in place upon the patient's arrival?
  • Medical Director and Nurse Manager – Can we ensure the correct alarm level?

The video will be transmitted over a dedicated 5G network within the hospital and in its own prioritised section of the regular public teleco network to ensure the video has the necessary quality.
