Despite the pandemic, Region Stockholm continues to make major investments in both healthcare and public transport in the county, as Region Stockholm reported a positive result in 2021.

This year’s reporting of Region Stockholm’s green bonds, the Green Bond Impact Report, is now finalized. The report shows that the financing has allowed Region Stockholm to avoid emissions of 9 300 tonnes of CO2 equivalents in 2021. Region Stockholm maintains its high credit rating of AA+ in the long term and A-1+ in the short term. This is according to the independent rating agency Standard & Poor's announcement on 1 April.

CICERO Shades of Green, an independent second opinion provider, graded Region Stockholm’s green framework the highest possible Dark Green and governance score of Excellent.

2020 was defined by the pandemic, which had a profound impact on the inhabitants of the county of Stockholm and for all operations in Region Stockholm. Despite the strain, the region can present a positive result which will be used to tackle the financial challenges that lie ahead. This is clear from the Region Stockholm’s Annual Report for 2020, adopted by the Regional Council.
